Church Values: Sacrificial Faith, Excellence, Multi-Generational Ministry, Transparency, Stories of Life Change

We know it can sometimes be difficult to find out about a church so we've tried to answer a few basic questions on this page.  If you think you'll be visiting soon, you're invited to visit the Looking to Visit page.  Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.

What time are the weekend services?
Sunday service times are 8:30, 9:50, & 11:10am.

What type of church is Tri-Village?

Tri-Village Christian Church is a non-denominational, Christian church comprised of individuals from a variety of backgrounds (Catholics, Protestants, the spiritually curious but skeptical, atheists, etc.) into a loving church family. It is a safe place for anyone simply wanting to check out Christianity without any pressure.  Tri-Village also allows for those who have decided to follow Jesus Christ to grow and be encouraged spiritually.

What is meant by non-denominational?
Ultimately, we believe that Christ is the head of the church.  Unlike a formal denomination, Tri-Village is not associated with any denominational headquarters, diocese, or formal denominational name.  Elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9) and ministry staff help to spiritually guide the church.

What should I wear?
You're free to wear whatever clothes make you feel most comfortable. However, please be modest. Most individuals dress casual.

What can I expect when I attend?
Tri-Village might be a little different from what you're used to in a church. Multi-media, contemporary music and practical messages aimed at real life issues are used to present the timeless truths of scripture at a level easily understood by spiritual beginners and seasoned followers alike.

Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?
Rest assured that you won't be put on the spot, singled-out, or embarrassed. For security reasons, we require all children (birth-3rd grade) to be registered if they attend one of the kids' classes.

What about my kids - do they come in with me or is there something going on for them?
Village Kids provide an exciting, quality experience for every child. Kids’ classes are held simultaneously with adult services every Sunday allowing you to maximize your worship experience in our adult services.

What about studying the Bible in a smaller group setting?
Sunday worship services are a great starting point to studying the Bible, but Tri-Village understands that every individual is designed to be involved in a smaller community of believers in which he or she can grow spiritually.  Spiritual growth is never meant to be done alone.  Life Groups take place on both Sunday mornings and throughout the week.  They are great ways to study the Bible in a smaller group setting.  A complete listing of  groups may be located at www.tri-village.org/groups.  Check the online group finder often as new groups are always being started.

Tri-Village Christian Church began in the spring of 1961 with a group in the Jersey (Ohio) area. The first service was held on July 9, 1961. Meetings and worship services were held in various homes. By the early spring of 1962, the congregation moved to the basement of the town hall in Pataskala.

In the summer of 1963, Nick Joseph was called to be the first full time minister. The Central Ohio Evangelistic Fellowship gave support to the church. The name “Tri-Village” was selected because of the location near the villages of Pataskala, Granville, and Alexandria. In 1965, five acres of land were purchased on the corner of Route 16 and York Road. The building at 4877 York Road was occupied in 1966.

In 1991, the church purchased 46+ acres of property for relocation. The new facility (at 7509 East Broad Street SW) was occupied on June 1, 1997. A dedication service was held on June 8 of the same year.

The facility at 4877 York Road was used as a youth building for Junior and Senior High from 1997 to 2003. In the spring of 2003, the facility at 4877 York Road was sold. Construction began on “Phase Two” of the new facility in the summer of 2002 and was completed in the summer of 2003. “Phase Two” or the “YAAC” (Youth and Adult Activity Center) opened in the summer of 2003. It included a gym, several classrooms and support space. In addition to the expansion, the first phase of the facility was remodeled to expand the worship area. In April 2004, the congregation approved changing the name from Tri-Village Church of Christ to Tri-Village Christian Church. The leadership felt this would better identify us as “Christians only.”

In 2017, a large Cafe, Chapel, and additional children's space was added through the Grow the Vision campaign. The campus continues to expand through additions such as an 18-hold disc golf course, trail system, sports ministry, and full-time preschool. All of these though are only for the purpose of carrying out the church's mission to "Connect All People to Jesus and One Another." May He alone receive the glory for the great things He has done and will continue to do!
